About Me

Jiaqi Wang (Vicky)
Hi, nice to e-meet you here!
Currently, I am a service designer and strategist based in London. In partnership with Hangzhou government, Technology Research Association, and Huawei CSR department, I explored the potential of service design in diverse industries and disciplines.
My previous project experience includes inclusive design, strategic design, business model innovation, project management, design research, speculative design and multichannel experience design.
Why did I choose to be a service designer?
Prior to enrolling in the Service Design Program at RCA, I served as the National Vice President of AIESEC, the largest youth-led leadership development NGO in the world. In my role, I faced a challenge of reviving the Global Entrepreneur Project, leading teams from over 30 universities across China. By implementing a new business model, we achieved a 15% growth in revenue, but received negative customer feedback. This experience led me to pursue the study of service design to enhance the project. It reinforced my belief that solely relying on business practices doesn't provide sufficient empathy for people and falls short of making a meaningful impact. However, by combining business with the principles of service design, I am empowered to fulfill my purpose of inspiring positive change in the world.
What am I passionate about?
Beyond creating a smooth customer experience with deep empathy, service design for me is understanding how the business works from the root, bringing innovation into life with ethical and sustainable solutions, and essentially, making responsible social impacts. Driven by my value of living diversely and striving for excellence, I think it is cool to take positive responsibility for social issues as a global citizen. I am passionate about social enterprise in active ageing, health care and sustainable life.
What are my strengths as a transdisciplinary designer?
With a strong background in both business and design, I have honed my abilities to effectively bridge the two fields and bring a unique perspective to projects. My expertise in human-centered research, business strategy, teamwork facilitation, and project management allows me to make meaningful contributions to transdisciplinary collaborations.
Drawing from my four years of international work experience, I have become proficient in working with diverse teams. I am proactive in coordinating with team members, identifying strengths, and adjusting my role to ensure optimal teamwork. As a service designer, I have honed my ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders and adjust my language to best engage them.
My undergraduate education in business, along with my analytical thinking and strong executive skills, gives me a competitive edge as a designer. This combination allows me to quickly understand clients' demands and efficiently integrate into the work.
